Air Conditioner vs Air Purifier

Air conditioners and air purifiers are two different kinds of devices that are used to cleanse the quality of air indoors. Although both these devices serve the same purpose, there are several differences between them.

Air Conditioner vs Air Purifier

An air conditioner is a device used to cool air. It works by removing heat from the air and releasing it outside of your home.

An Air Purifier is an appliance that removes contaminants from the air in your home by filtering them out, usually using some type of filter.

In the simplest terms, an air conditioner cools the air while an air purifier cleanses it. The difference between these two devices is that one cools and the other cleanses. An air purifier is more efficient in cleansing the quality of indoor air compared to an AC unit.

The key difference between these two devices is how they work. While an air conditioning system removes heat from rooms through a cooling process, an indoor purifier works by filtering out contaminants present in atmospheric gases with its built-in filter media (activated carbon).

An air conditioning unit must be installed by a professional.

Air conditioner installation is not a DIY project. You may be able to purchase an air-conditioning unit and install it yourself, but you should always have a professional perform the installation. This is because the correct wiring of an AC unit requires special skills and training.

If you’re ready to invest in an AC system, hire a local contractor who has been around for more than five years and has completed many successful installations. They will be able to give you advice on which type of air conditioner suits your home’s needs best and how much it will cost based on factors like square footage and indoor humidity levels (the higher these are, the more powerful your cooling system needs to be).

An air conditioner works on the principle of cooling.

An air conditioner works on the principle of cooling. It removes heat from the surrounding air by transferring it to another medium, primarily water or refrigerant. The process is called cooling because what happens is that heat is removed from the air and transferred to an object that becomes cold when this happens.

Cooling is done using a refrigeration cycle which uses three components: compressor, condenser, and evaporator. These are connected together in series with each other so that as one component removes heat from its respective air stream, another component receives this heat transfer through another stream of flowing gas (or liquid).

An air purifier works on the principle of cleaning.

An air purifier works on the principle of cleaning. It can remove pollutants from indoor environments, homes, and other enclosed spaces. They work by drawing air through a filter and then forcing it back into the room. The filters are designed to trap dust, pollen, and other allergens in the air before they enter your lungs or nose. Air purifiers use different methods depending on their size and design, but essentially all of them rely on filtration for cleaning purposes (the exception being UV light which kills some germs).

The frequency of cleaning is a must for an air conditioner whereas that’s not the case with an air purifier.

Air conditioners need to be cleaned on a more frequent basis than air purifiers. The frequency of cleaning depends on the type of filter used and the amount of dust in your home. If you have pets, children, or smokers in your house then it is advisable to clean your AC unit at least once every two months.

Air purifiers are usually easy to maintain and only need a cleaning every six months or so (unless you notice any changes in quality). You can clean an air purifier by using a vacuum cleaner or even just with water if that doesn’t work well enough for you.

An air purifier is easy to move from one place to another, however, an AC needs to be installed with proper wire connections.

Air purifiers can be moved from one place to another, don’t need to be installed, and don’t require any wiring.
